Alan and Daphne’s wedding party “on tour” August 2006

Our personal message to our dearest friends and family

Dear family and friends, welcome to paradise!!!

We both would like to offer you our warmest love and affection for making the effort to come all the way across to Turkey to make our special day, just perfect.

We also hope, especially those of you who have never been to Turkey that you will find Olu Deniz and it’s nearby local towns somewhere special and of course fall in love with the local Turkish people (although not literally if you are married!!) and their custom and warm hospitality.

We have stayed here at the Karbel Hotel in June and believe it is the nicest hotel in the area. For the benefit of research we also checked out as many bars as possible during the week we stayed here, and you really can drink all night here but 4.15 am was our limit as we are now getting on a bit!!

Apart from the Wednesday evening when we hope you will join us at the Blue Lagoon on the beach for our brief wedding ceremony the rest of your stay is “your holiday time” to do as you wish. However, we hope and believe that most of the group will enjoy the pleasure of each other’s company, especially at “happy hour” each day and get to know each other much better by the end of the holiday.
I would also like to introduce those who do not know them, and warmly thank Lawrence and Helen for his agreeing to become my best man at such short notice, for him and his family to come all this way on my behalf, and believe me after only a very short period of time you will think you have known Lawrence for YEARS!!

I can honestly say that I am sure that watching the local Turkish reaction to 3 men in full formal highland dress is going to be an interesting experience for us all, and NO we wont be lifting kilts up as we have another 12 days in the Hotel and I don’t want to frighten (or excite them which could be worse!!) the locals any more than we will anyway.

Finally, I would like to take this moment to thank Murat Mali of Koral Travel, who with his wife Seda are now considered to be our Turkish friends and not just our wedding organisers for his personal attention to detail on all the arrangements for our forthcoming wedding which has been an “interesting experience” for all to put it mildly, and we are confident it will be a very special day to remember. They are our wedding guests, along with their colleague Asli, and I am sure you will all make them most welcome on the day.

Murat has arranged this welcome pack for guests to help explain about local issues such as transport, currency, local excursions and customs to make your stay as interesting and enjoyable as possible. Details of the wedding arrangements and timings are also included in the pack

Please contact Murat with any questions or advice you may have during your stay and NOT the honeymoon couple, and once again we both thank you joining us in paradise for our wedding.

LET THE PARTY BEGIN………………………BRING IT ON……!

Ps. those of you who arrive earlier on the Friday, you had better get the drinks in……

All our love

Alan and Daphne
